Romain debuted in F1 with Renault. After moving to Haas for the 2016 season, he scored several points finishes (2017-2019). In 2020, Romain survived an horrific crash during the opening lap of the Bahrain GP when he suffered second degree burns after his car caught fire, marking his last race in Formula 1. Romain now competes in the IndyCar Series.
