Front wet Pirelli F1 race tyre, from prior to 2017
Pirelli has been the exclusive, sole tyre supplier for Formula 1 since 2011 and produces highly specialised dry, intermediate, and wet weather tyres. For damp or wet track conditions, Pirelli supplies two specialised treaded compounds, intermediate and wet. Wet tyres, recognisable by their blue sidewall, are engineered to efficiently disperse large amounts of standing water to prevent aquaplaning.
