Wheel nut from the right hand side of the 2019 Racing Point RP19 F1 Car, as driven by Sérgio Perez and Lance Stroll.
F1 cars use a centre lock system where one large nut holds the entire wheel assembly in place, allowing mechanics to change all four tires in under two seconds. The nuts are made from aerospace-grade aluminum or titanium which makes them lightweight yet strong enough to handle extreme stress and loads, as well as the immense torque of a pneumatic wheel gun.
